Reflections from the U.S./Mexico borderlands
I grew up in California and Arizona, with the border always looming on the southern horizon. After almost two decades in North Carolina, I’ve decided to spend some time with groups of people along the border—in the U.S. and in Mexico—who’ve committed themselves to sustain the lives of people who’re trying to cross, and to honor and remember migrants who die in the desert. These newsletters are my dispatches from the borderlands.
